Amen, brother! When will we wake up to the fact that what they say, and what they write are two different things?! Obama talks at us and uses condescending rhetoric to silence us, while unabashedly signing our American freedoms away.
Our Lord redeem us! He who makes for us provisions for each day, our hope is only in Him.

Miguel I think my observations are best summed up by the realization that with hope and surrender we follow Jesus where ever he leads us – be that the burbs, the city, the country, the small town, etc. The narcissism I have observed over the past few years is exactly the kind of thing Paul wrote about in 1 Corinthians 12. If a brother or sister feels like their ministry is "more blessed" or whatever because it operates out of a larger city (something I have seen and heard with my own eyes and ears) they they are placing themselves above a smaller, seemingly less important part of the body.

And as I wrote in a comment on FB, this particular thing was something I used to wear proudly. All through college years I thought I was better off for having left my small town, when I began my career I thought I was better off for moving onward and upward, and when I moved to Cincy 6 years ago I moaned, bitched and complained for the first 2+ years of living here! Never happy, always looking behind with condescension.

Having been removed from that shallow mindset for several years now I find it really hurtful now when I hear someone I respect talk down about another place or of another people. It's clearly a nerve for me right now.

Dan I would like to say amen and sorry at the same time, I live in a surburban area with Corn field and found myself getting caught up with a good brother complain how Cleavland was so dead. The key in all of this was that I really enjoyed the taste of that amish country feel and the rural nature. The truth of the matter is it is pride and a haughty spirit which i had to shake off. House church caters to this verse Rev 3:8 little strength but look what the Lord HIMSELF has to say about that church. I have found that we had to part away from those who feel that a traditional church is the only way to do church and this is painful but all in all we are getting closer to other friends that see or desire the same work and I thank GOD cause it has even brought me closer to you.

Its too bad Apple kind of dropped the ball on iPhone when they cheaped out with the AT&T network, which happens to be great if you're driving on the Interstate or in a major city. Anywhere else though, its just dicey. Verizon has a much more expansive network in metro, suburban AND rural areas. Regarding investment, Verizon simply opted for coverage over phone brand (AT&T put most of their eggs into heavily populated metro areas), which I believe was the better move for Verizon in the long haul. I'd bet if Apple had negotiated provisioning with Verizon, you'd still be happily slingin your 3G baby! How is your Nokia doing, by the way?

head's up – Macy's paid for the logo. no public dollars were spent. as a designer and business owner, i would have liked to get that $75k on a brand identity project! :) but i think the reporter knew EXACTLY what s/he was doing when listing how much money the logo cost. if it were public money, i'd understand - need to be responsible in knowing where our money is going. but when it's private enterprise, they should get to spend money they earn in whatever way they want to without Joe Public's $0.02....IMHO.

I really don't like the logo at all - I agree this city needs some polishing of it's image and diversity - but when I see the logo I think of a computer store . . . and now Maple Knoll Village. And when we can't fund our schools, etc. should the city be paying 75K for this?
